Yotei Mikaku Fiesta

Yotei Mikaku Fiesta is a celebration of the regions huge range of locally grown fruit and vegetables.


The festival is a great opportunity for anyone who loves organic food to try dishes showcasing Niseko’s amazing fresh produce skillfully prepared by local chefs.

Kutchan Jaga Matsuri (Kutchan Potato Festival)


The Niseko region produces a massive amount of potatoes and supplies cities, towns and villages all over Japan. The Jaga Matsuri (Potato Festival) is a celebration of potatoes and the farming industry that produces them. It is chance for the entire town to get together, enjoy the weather and celebrate in the peak of summer.

Niseko Cycle Week


A one-week event with the goal of educating and promoting a clean and active lifestyle. There are events throughout the week catered to all sorts of cyclist’s skill levels and abilities.

Sapporo Snow Festival (Yuki Matsuri)


The Sapporo Snow Festival showcases some of the biggest and most beautiful snow sculptures in the world. This Festival is a truly breathtaking event with snow sculptures becoming bigger and more spectacular each year. The Sapporo Snow Festival runs for one week in early February and is now a major attraction for both international and domestic tourists

Otaru Snow Gleaming Festival


Various kinds of ice candles hand made by citizens of the city and can be seen each evening floating along canals and decorating Otaru’s picturesque shopping streets. It is one of Hokkaido’s most beautiful winter festivals and is very romantic as couples can enjoy taking a stroll along the canal and enjoying a cup of locally produced mulled wine.

Yosakoi Festival


Yosakoi Festival is an incredible dancing event held in the streets that surround Sapporo’s famous Odori park. Participants of all ages dance in large groups ranging from 20-50 people, choreographed to music and wearing extravagant outfits. The Yosakoi Festival sees Odori Park lined with tables, food stalls and stages in which dancers who have finished dancing on the streets perform one last dance and are judged in front of hundreds of people.

Sapporo Beer Festival


The Sapporo Beer Festival! A month long drinking session held in the picturesque Odori Park, right in the heart of Sapporo city.

Asahi, Kirin, and Suntory beer, they are all here along with a huge range of international and local food stalls open from early afternoon until around 10pm each night.

Hokkudai Festival


The Hokkudai festival is held every year for about four days in early June. The Hokkaido University Road is closed to cars, transforming into a carnival strip lined with interesting stalls that sell food and drinks from all over the world.

The “Big Fun” 
Secret Garden Party


This annual dance music party is aptly called the Sapporo “Big Fun Secret Garden Party” The party is held mid summer at an incredibly beautiful fruit orchard located in the hills by the popular tourist route 230. Local and international Dj’s perform dance music sets day and night surrounded by stunning ponds of water and a huge grassed area where people from all over Japan can be found chilling out.

Rising Sun Rock Festival


The Rising Sun Music Festival is held at the Tarukawa Wharf, Ishikari Bay near Otaru City approximately 40 minutes drive from Sapporo’s CBD. The festival attracts thousands of people each year and sees rock bands who travel from all over Japan perform sets all day long. The festival is always held on a Friday and finishes on the following Sunday morning just after sunrise, hence the name, the Rising Sun Rock Festival.

Autumn Fest


The Sapporo Autumn Fest is relatively new festival for Hokkaido. The first one started in 2008 and the festival has grown and become more popular every year. It is held for two weeks and covers five blocks of the Sapporo’s Odori Park. Most of the food stalls showcase traditional Japanese food such as Ramen (Japanese Soup Noodles), Jingisukan (barbecued lamb), Soup Curry, Soba (buckwheat noodles) and lots more all made with fresh Hokkaido produce.
